    Several questions....

Are these pretty much the same circut?

Is one more versatile than the other?

Is having them both on a board overkill (in relationship to each other)?

    Which is better for sustain?

These are my options, other pedals not considered.

Their circuits aren't related at all.

The Lunar Module is based on the Colorsound Overdriver, IIRC.

The Big Green Pi is based on a Russian Big Muff Pi.

The BGP will have tons more gain. Lots more bass. Less mids.

The Lunar will be smoother with more mids.

Two totally different pedals. Both are good though. It wouldn't be overkill to have both since they are very different.

    both have lots of sustain.

Sort of; also sort of a Fuzz Face, also sort of a Tone Bender.

The Lunar will be more transparent, tweakable, and versatile but is also capable of MORE saturation and sustain than a BMP when you set its knobs to extremes. Can also do clean boost (ala Colorsound Overdriver) or Black Sabbath (ala treble boost into filthy distorted amp) or AC/DC (kinda like cranked Marshall JTM45) or Pink Floyd (ala silicon Fuzz Face) type tones, etc., depending on the knob settings.

Yep, totally different. The Lunar Module is more of a fuzz mixed with Coloursound (specifically meant to nail the 'Time' solo, which it does), and the other is a muff. Are both good? Sure! Both the same? Nope.

For what it's worth, I've had my lunar module on my board since day one.

Edit: I see the man himself has answered. You can't go wrong with any of his stuff, you really can't.

Well thanks! Can't get better advice than this series of comments^^^^

I recently picked up another Lunar Module after selling my first one years ago when I needed some cash. I have been rocking a Big Green Pi for awhile and was thinking of putting it out to pasture as I really liked the LM. Could be a little bit of a newlywed love so I guess I will give it 6 months or so on the Arc Effects before it hits the closet.
