Does anyone know of a pedal that can approximate the sound of Jeff
    " Skunk " Baxter's '70's lead tone? I was listening to Pretzel Logic &
(don't laugh) Gene Simmons' first solo album. To me,that is what a
rock lead tone should sound like. Any opinions welcome.

Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer compressor into the board. Drive the board into distortion.

The Orange Squeezer is a big part of his base tone. It is a little square box that plugs directly into the guitar. Your guitar chord then plugs into it. Used to be cheaper than dirt (like < $50).

Squashes your signal alot. Very colored sounding.
