Slaving for low volume... sounds lovely

    My reference was to using a speaker simulating reactive load not a tonally modifying eq equivalent. When Groove Tubes intro'd their replacement load, years ago, the reactivity was a big selling point, IIRC.

    Just to clarify, a reactive load will have a varying impedance, as does a speaker.

    yup. But the old tried and true amp into a fixed load dump (load resistor) has a feel and a sound that's real cool, and it's so easy.

    For those that haven't ever tried it and struggle with too much volume from their big amps, give it a shot.
