I have a class A amp that runs pretty hot, and I'm going to buy one of those small clip on fans and clip it on the lower panel.

Is it best to blow air in, or pull the hot air out?

Sometimes its difficult to find 12Vdc inside a tube amp. The options are to use an AC fan that could be noisy or you can put a voltage doubler on a filament winding and dropping resistor to slow it down enough that the noise won't be heard.
