Well I just installed an Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker into my 65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb about a week ago, and I've noticed recently that when I play loud and hard, there is a smell that comes from my amplifier. Not that this smell is unpleasant, but I was wondering if that was actually supposed to be happening? It is a hemp cone speaker....I didn't know if that had anything to do with it. I've read from some posts here that this speaker doesn't sound that great until you break it in which can take about a week, and I pretty much agree. Is this smell part of the breaking-in process? Let me know if i'm a lost idiot that's about to blow up his amp.

Does the smell make you want to eat snacks?

    Best, Pete.

When I had one, I did notice a distinct smell as well.
    Methinks it's normal.

hehe, this post almost seems like an Onion article.

ser tho, does the magnet, or any other parts of the speaker get real warm when playing uber loud?

I don't have a Cannabis Rex, but, I have used a number of Eminence speakers. They have excellent warranty service and will back their product as long as it hasn't been abused. I'd say just keep on playing it, if it blows, they will take care of you.
