Wondering what your guy's take is on a smooth overdrive (In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed is really the tone I'm referring to, the smooth solo tone Dickey and Duane get.)

I have a Mojodrive w/ the three way Marshall/TS/Boost toggle switch on the way. Will this cure my GAS pains for such a tone?

i'd prefer to keep it under 225 USD.

I'm playing a strat and hollowbody through a Metro JTM45 (also looking into a Goldtop for a new guitar.)

    thanks, guys.

The Mojo Drive might work. Xotic BB Preamp is very smooth.

Yeah a Les Paul into your JTM45 cranked should be right there. I'd also recommend a Germino Lead 55 to get you there, if your into getting a new amp.

For Allman Bros tones I always thought it was more about your pickups than any pedal you can use. There are a ton of PAFs out there, not sure if your hollowbody has humbuckers or not though.

Duane AND Dickey? I always found their tones to be very different...

Nothing but p/u switching and volume knobs (into a miked Super 17). Great tune. Lester works best for my use but have done it equally as fun with tele. We do this song on most gigs. Give it a try in rehearsal and let the wood of your guitar and p/u combo shine. Loads of fun!!

Menatone Workingman's Blue is a JTM-45. Smooth warm Marshall. Remember to turn the bass way down.
