Snake for a Powered mixer with speaker inputs

I did a search and found Whirlwinds but they cost almost as much as a powered mixer. This wouldn't be a critical purchase but I would like to be able to do sound checks and not have to walk back and forth to the stage area for adjustments. Any cheaper options out there?

This is kinda ghetto, but I've just dressed and gaffe taped a pair of 12AWG speaker lines to the snake and soldered heavy 1/4" female jacks at each end to connect spkr cables. It works and is a very inexpensive way to do it.

Thanks for the idea. Good option.

Hi, this is what you are looking for...

Yorkville SN1624P Snake -- 16-XLR / 2-TRS / 4-14AWG Speaker Returns. It's what I use...

About $1000 new.

Quite honestly, "powered mixers" and "snakes" do not go together. Power amps need to be onstage, reasonably close to the speakers, not out in the back of a house at the FOH mixing position.. You do NOT want long speaker runs, as the damping issues becomes huge. (damping decreases. that's bad)

+1 on what mark says. When i help out my mate with some far away PA gigs (long drives...) we always setup the power amps side stage, and then the snake goes to the mixer FOH....FWIW...
