Okay it's not a Neumann, but if you need something quick and dirty to get your ideas on the hard drive, you could do a lot worse. From what I hear though Blue has been bought by EV, so I'm sure it won't be long 'til they're all made in Korea.

I've never heard of a Neumann being used for a guitar/amp mic? Sounds like there's a lot of noise coming through. What are you recording with?

I think it sounds pretty good. Does it show up as and audio interface on your pc when you plug it in?

Ah I just noticed that it's one of those USB mics...That would explain the computer noise.

How well do these things respond to EQ?

The Snowball as a selectable input pops up the minute it's plugged in, phantom powered from usb, no drivers necessary. I didn't notice the computer noise, but it was just a really quick test. I actually had the mic about two feet from my cpu, so that would explain some fan noise....

I haven't tried to EQ it yet....but some bomb factory compression worked nicely.

I'll test it on vocals with my my recording group in school tomorrow.
