I know that he tells the truth.

I once saw a photograph of it.

Let's face it it's not exactly surprising in his case.

Not only that, but it won't make any difference.

No way will Fox fire him now. This will only boost his popularity among his fans. It doesn't matter that he's a liar. Anybody who cared about the truth or objectivity was never going to listen O'Reilly in the first place.

90% of what's on Television is fabricated B.S., why should the news be any different?

    It's never mattered before...

Because he's not a journalist or a news anchor, and AFAIK never claimed to be. He's a political talking head who's audience parrots his words true or not.

It HAS boosted his popularity. His ratings are way up since this broke. You see, in this case, he is a victim.

I think 'victim' would be more accurate...

every one of these opinion news hosts and most major network top seeded figureheads are totally full of sh!t! they make their money polarizing viewers and preaching to large choirs. makes me sad.

they report false things all the time and have zero accountability even when wrong about whom, what or how they report.

news is crap. there is too much of it with 24/7 365 broadcasting. i killed cable to keep peace in my house. son watched msnbc all night and wife was all about bill on fox. talk about being talking heads for these opinion show asshats.

killing cable solved that. now the news is only on air for 30 min. oddly enough neither my wife or son ever mention either polarizing talking points they so got sucked up into. they have their own brains again!

    refreshing!!!

Hate to disappoint Media Matters and Mother Jones fans, but Bill O'Reilly isn't going anywhere. Night after night three million or so angry old folks will be tuning in to watch his show and, more often than not, I will be among them.

You mean the ex-host of entertainment tonight isn't trust worthy? The hell you say.

Dan Rather; fooled by copies of real documents - gone.
Brian Williams; was in a helicopter that took small arms fire, misremembers it as RPG fire - suspended
O'Really; blatantly lies about being in a combat zone he never came within 100 miles of - probably will receive a bonus

There is no accountability in the Lamestream media!

^ Absolutely perfect, and hilarious to boot ^

I'd love to discuss this, but there are few guitars over here waiting to be wailed upon. Let's jam for awhile and then we'll see if we have any brain cells left to talk about talking about talkers.

I have no horse in this race, but isn't it curious that right after an NBC newsman gets called on the carpet, a diametrically opposed Fox newsman gets the same?

Conclusion, as others have said, they are all full of spit.

With the pressure of "being first" and saying audacious things, it is no wonder that they start to fabricate things. They no longer fact check, just repeat anonymous bloggers pseudo factoids and no one calls them on that. So what's the next step? Starting to fabricate yourself. Who cares, in 24 hours the news cycle has changed and buried your poop from the day before.
