So free voice over wi fi pretty much stinks, but how about the version you pay for?

..... I wonder if the quality is better or halfway decent? Anyone here try it or can recommend something?

I use WeChat (free) over wi-fi when overseas to call Mrs. Lee in the US and the quality is better than any domestic land line or cell phone.

Thanks, I'll check that one out. Inside my house there is barely any signal, so I'm looking at different options.

We use FaceTime (video and audio) when talking with Ms Vee's relatives in Europe, the quality is great and it's free, but it's an Apple only thing on both ends...

Google voice with the computer. FREE!
Except international. Wife calls home to Germany for something like two cents a minute.
Quality is great especially internationally. Better than years ago.

Using call centric with a phone modem works fine, bill is anywhere between three and ten dollars/month. Penny a minute. Using Google fiber as an IP.

Have a co-worker that uses majicjack with no issues.
