    I have some nice friends.

One of them asked me if I wanted to see David Crowder and Mercy Me last night. He said that he had free tickets and back stage passes for myself and family. He runs the stage for the venue they were playing.

Well 1 min before the David Crowder band was to go on the rhythm guitar (Mark) players Bad Cat dies. with litterally no time to run out to the bus for a backup the stage manager grabs a JCM900 (really?) and throws it on the stage in place of the dead cat.

My buddy asks me if I could trouble shoot it..... I crack the amp open after determining that it wasn't something simple like a tube and find that the coupling cap to the PI was bad.

Crowder finishes the show and I have the chance to talk to the guitar player and show him what happened and what needed to get done to fix it. The band is playing 4 venues in 4 days and although they have a backup I can see that he is devistated that he amp is blown...

I tell him that I live 15min away and that I have the part and can fix it in 5min. He looks at me with watery eyes and says....really?

45 min later I made their webpage.

awesome! I guess all that diy and putzing around in amps can really come in handy sometimes :p

Cool deal. What amps were the other guitarist (and MCM) using?

Badcats have the weirdest looking layouts to me.

The other guitarist (Jack) has a D13 of some sort. Sounded great didn't notice which one it was as it didn't break.

Mercy me was using brand new (that very day I believe) Vox AC30 handwired heads and cabs.

I didn't stick around for most of that show though. Sounded good at sound check.

Really the only amp that didn't sound good was that 900.... wall of mush.

It's clear to me that you were meant to be there to bless them. I love to hear things like this. They are going to be playing up here where I live at Santa Barbara County Bowl. I'll be paying special attention to the Bad Cat. Good Stuff Joe!

    How it really went down:

    Crowder: My Badcat....#$%^*& .

Joe: Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

I saw that Yaz show, it was techno-epic. Love that bit in the middle where they leave and just have the analog tape reel spooling off some instrumental breaks!
