So I just discovered The Gaslight Anthem

And WOW! I've usually been much more into the progressive, artsy side of guitar and music a la Coheed and Cambria, Porcupine Tree and Circa Survive, but these dudes are killer! It's simply astounding how, through simple riffs, single line solos and good ol' distortion pedals, these guys make me feel right in the middle of New Jersey (in a totally good way).

I always love it when I discover new music like this! Plus, getting accolades from Springsteen himself never hurts! To anyone who hasn't tried them, I definitely recommend picking up their latest cd. These boys KILL!

No doubt. Their lead guitarist seems to use a sweet Jazzmaster, and the singer plays one of the few Teles I like.

Big fan here. Their last 3 albums have all been really strong, and they put on a great live show.

Theyre great live. I dont like em as much on record. My old band got to open for them at Roseland 2 years ago. Alex, the lead guitarist, was the nicest and most genuine dude. Lives in hoboken and saw him walking around frequently around town and at Maxwells. Very happy for their success.
