First off, thanks for all the suggestions yeterday.Right now I'm focusing on a few different one's:
1) The Lovepedal OD11 really intrigues me. Any thoughts?
2) The DMB Cosmic Crunch. Any thoughts?
3)And the Red Llama concerns me because there is no tone control. Is that a legitimate concern pertaining to this Pedal, because it does sound pretty good.
4) Joyo Sweet Baby OD. Thoughts?
5) Also, should I should get a Boss SD-1 again (I owned it when I was younger and I had liked it)-Pros and Cons for the SD-1?

I know it seems like I am all over the map, because I prob am. But I'm looking for an OD that is has alot of Volume, Bright, the ability to clean up, and have some balls to it. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys, Brian

I'm using a Fender Blues Junior NOS Tweed. I use it just for clean (awesome), and I can't crank it up. (I live in an appt)

I have an 1981 SD-1 and a newer modded SD-1 and the 81 totally blows the other away. Put the tone knob about 3 oclock and it kicks ass. For me anyway! Try an older SD-1. Theyre not too overpriced yet. I got mine for $100 about a month ago.

From the pedals that you list the OD11 and the Cosmic Crunch sound the most interesting to my ears. Fantastic price in both of them and great tones, I reckon!

Not to sound like a salesman (if the mods feel this is out of line, feel free to delete) but I have a net-buddy who has been trying to sell a Cosmic Crunch with no success. If you want to try one for even less than what it costs, let me know and I could get you in touch.

I don't think of the SD-1 being bright. It can be a great OD, I remember my old one from years ago, it was the only flavor I used back then. I think for a bright Od that can do everything on your wish list I would try the Bearfoot SYOD1. Just a thought , but they sound pretty darn awesome in the demos I have seen.

Also, check out the Keeley modified BD-2. I use it with a Blues Junior and it sounds great. I don't know if it will clean up with the volume knob though since I've never tried it that way.

I just read your entire post OP. The OD-1 is what you seek! Also, the Lumpys Liquid Lead i reccomend too but the OD-1 is magic with my Fender amps!

Sorry but for one overdrive only pedal I would get a TS808. I looked at Used Guitar Center and there's two in perfect shape for a hundred bucks each. Can't beat that by anyone. SD-1 sucks. IMO. The tone controls on a pedal only matter if they boost, otherwise they are just cutting your tone which will always result in less natural overdrive.

Do you think the lack of a tone control would be an issue with this pedal? TY!

I have no idea 'cause I never played one, but that little toggle that it has seems really useable. And don't get fooled by ODs with more tone knobs , if a dirt-box is voiced properly it can be very versatile without 'em and if it's not, well, they can't help it either. ;)
