Some called me nuts for trading my fancy blinged out Alleykat for a stripped down Melody Maker.
Best trade I ever made. Call me converted.

Thanks. I kept thinking I was going to miss the Kat, but this monster made me forget all about it. The difference is pretty stark.

I've been too busy playing it. :)
I'll take pics later.
Mainly, I just wanted to comment on how big the difference was in playability, sound, quality, etc.
Played Gibson before, but not for any extended period. The little monster just keeps amazing me with what it can do and how easy it plays.
That pickup doesn't get a lot of credit, but it's an animal.

What an apples-to-oranges change up. There's nothing similar at all between those two guitars. What's it like playing the same tunes on something that will clearly sound completely different? I'm too chicken to do it.

Congrats on the move, play it with reckless abandon. :)

Well, I set up my 5th Avenue with a minibucker not long ago and it turned out to be a better Kat than the Kat, so the Epi wasn't getting much love.
I've kinda been shopping for teles but couldn't find one I liked. The MM is the best tele ever if you ask me. :)
It's definitely different than the Kat, but the step up in quality is undeniable.
