Several years ago a buddy gave me a disk of Charlie Hunter playing in New York. He was given a copy of the original by his own friend who had attended the show and placed a little digital recorder on the table.
I believe this was the first I had ever heard of Charlie Hunter! Enjoy!

More to come as they upload. Five tracks in total!

I'll have to listen to these after the Super Bowl.

TGP needs more exposure to this guy. He's the ONLY musician ever to take me to a completely different state of mind after a show. I felt transformed.

Brilliant player! :)

Thanks!

He (and a lot of other jam/club type bands) have a lot of downloads on the Live Music Archive http://www.archive.org/details/etree

Great recordings, btw -thanks!

When I saw the title, I thought that's where the OP uploaded it to (or etree, or another torrent site).

Call me old and out of touch, but why do people put music on Youtube? (not talking about videos of musicians, but just music) It'd be much cooler to upload lossless copies to a place where people can download them.

I should start uploading to other sites. I do feel that I am able to upload to YouTube in VERY high quality (for YouTube). But no, you cannot download from YouTube.

Did you try to put it in the Charlie Hunter section of the Live Music Archive?

Taping Policy
http://www.charliehunter.com/setlists/tapingpolicy.html

First off, I really appreciate that there is so much interest in taping us live and think that on the whole it's a really positive thing for everybody. The only things I am not into are:

1. people bugging us for a board tape, (this is not really a good representation of how we sound and would rather not have it circulated).
2. people making too much of a production of taping and bothering us,the sound person, the rest of the club employees, and other people who come to the show.

All we want to do is play the best gig possible and have a great time. If you want to tape and trade with friends, feel free, we support that. Just don't sell them. There is a history of people ripping off musicians through illegal bootlegs and none of us want to be a victim of that. We trust that the intentions of tapers is for trading and documentation. We don't recoup on record sales as it is . And please be discreet when doing it.

The last request I have is that if taping occurs, a DAT or CD-R be sent to me at this address:

Charlie Hunter Online
348 Chestnut Street
San Francisco, CA 94133

I appreciate all your support and hope to see you all on the road!

Charlie Hunter

That is GREAT!!!!!! Charlie is awesome!

I will upload to that section when I figure out how to configure the labeling properly.

Thanks!

When I met him at the WOW hall it was pretty much a position of

:huh How the hell am I going to talk music with THIS guy.

But of course within a couple minutes he was cracking jokes about getting too old and sore for the 8 string and it was chuckles for almost an hour. Just chilling out front of the WOW hall. SUPER cool dude.
