So was the original 5150 really a Soldano more or less?

I remember when I bought mine in '92 someone said it was the same design. If so, did the design change over the years? I do recall it was a great amp. Pretty sure the actual components were not as top quality as Soldano but was the layout pretty much dead on?

I owned a couple original 5150 rigs and a Soldano rig back in the 90s. I've always considered 5150 a bit more compressed and not quite as open in the upper mids, but that's just my opinion. I always liked the 5150 cleaner channel with the crunch button engaged more than the saturated drive channel live, but it's fun to jam on.
