I just shipped my Mesa Lone Star. I loved the sound, but not the weight. Is there anything else on the market that has similar tone, yet is easier to carry?

Just curious: which config did you have?

    Classic or Special?
    Head or combo?

I've been looking at the Mark V 25 and the LS Classic heads lately.

A lone star head would be similar and lighter :)

If you think 25 watts of clean is enough.

I would agree on the Mark V 25. The "2nd" clean mode sounded to my ears very close to a Lone Star Special (not sure if you had a Lone Star classic or the special). The first clean mode on the Mark V 25 sounds a little "harder" and more in your face, but the 2nd one sounded great.

Another choice - I recently got a TA-30. I'm a Fender guy but the TA-30 has great Voxy and Fender cleans that are well worth checking out (plus the amp has 3 other modes of which I really like the Top Boost and the mode that is Marshall-like. I got the head.
