In case you guys wanted to see and hear differences with 4 Soldanos, 4 Diamonds, and 2 Splawn amps from an amp demo and class I give every year for Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, here it is. I do it free of charge for the audio/engineering and school of music students. My daughter is a contemporary classical singer at Belmont so I try to help them out as much as I can.

We are at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville running 10 amps through 3 - 4x12" cabinets, using Senn 421 mics > into a 96 channel Neve analog console > into Pro Tools 10 > bounced to mp4's.

Enjoy.

Great effort....and great amps.

It would be nice if you could 'label' the video with 'balloons' containing the name of the amp being played.

I like the stock SLO with the loop better than the other one that do'nt have it the best , it sounded smoother to me.
Would love to hear those amps with a different style of guitar playing , it gets old hearing everything detuned and playing metal riffs.
Something like a Gary Moore/Joe Bonamassa style of playing would be interesting to hear through those amps along with some single coil work.

Those Diamond amps (except for the Spitfire) are voiced with detuned sounds in mind.

If you want Gary or Joe then the only amp there that can possibly fit the bill would be the Spitfire.
In other wards these amps are probably not designed the way you like...

I have Soldano amps with EVM loaded 4X12's and they do JB and GM with ease if you set them up for that style.
My point was that every player playing through every amp in the vid is detuned and playing metal which really don't show what all those amps could really do if set up differently with different styles of playing .
Just because an amp has high gain built into it's preamp section does'nt mean it's only good for detuned metal players.

I've got a Spitfire II. Great sounding amp with the best clean channel I've ever heard. Funniest owner's manual too.

Agreed, that's the market they were designed for but they are very flexible amps that will do more, you may be able to find clips for different styles of playing...
