Does that ever work well in a high gain amp? I already feel with high gain 100-watt amps you have to baby most of them and keep the master under 2-3 before the low-end just falls to mush.

That’s like the opposite of reality.. Unless something is wrong with your cab, they would sound tighter the louder you get. Unless your eq settings are absurd.

Most of them have inadequate iron and filtering. Not so with the SLO.

No. They’ll just start adorning them as “Pre-BAD”.

No, once you start getting power tube distortion the low end gets looser and looser. I tend to use EV’s in a 4x12 so they can handle it. Turn your high gain amp to 5 or 6 and with plenty of preamp gain and see how tight your palm mutes are. A lifetime of see thrash and death metal shows and my own amp experiences over the last 25 seem to back this up pretty solidly.

I think CV took care of the new and used markets for a while.
The originals will hold up or better, as with the Silver Jubilees and other limited models after reissue release.

Wasn’t the Silver Jubilee only made for a year? SLO was made for 30 odd consecutive years. My reference was more “That will stop people asking unrealistic prices”.
From what I can make out, the B.A.D. version may well be superior.

I bet there are some who will buy a 4K SLO that would never have bought a 5K SLO.

When they are used they will be a 3K SLO. Now we're talking.

You don’t start getting power tube distortion at 5 or 6 on most high gain 100 watt amps... You can also turn down the preamp gain the louder you are. You must have a lifetime of playing the wrong amps.

depends how many they make. SLOs are already plentiful in the market. Wasn’t that long ago you could buy one for $2500 used.
