Soldering Tips From Nasa

    I read most of that, great stuff. Who would believe there are so many ways to F up a solder joint. The most surprising was the over heated solder joint where the solder has a dull and crystallized appearance. I would have called that a cold solder joint, had no idea you could over heat the solder and damage it. Of course over heated with burn or discoloration on the pc board would be easy to spot, but this was not the case for that over heated solder example,,,, wow, thanks for the link.

    Too bad they weren't as anal retentive about larger parts like ceramic tiles and O rings.

    Why is NASA using carbon comp resistors? Were these the soldering guides for the first moon landing?
