Here are some solo excerpts from demo mixes of a couple songs from a singer/songwriter that I am currently producing and playing alot of guitar on. Being a "good boy" as a studio player and playing in the context/style of the music. Kind of a Rockin'/roots/country thang.

1st one is my Yamaha 912J DiMarzio HS2 neck pup into a Bogner Ecstasy Blue ch.,Strct.High, boost on. thru single 12" EV SRO in a cube.

2nd one is my Warmoth/Kubicki, Duncan 59 bridge, tapped single mode. Same Bogner and settings.

All other elec. git. tracks were strats thru Boggy Blue ch. various gain stages.

    Hope you like.

    Peace,
    dk

I recognize that XTC tone... great playing!

Kubiki... as in Phillip Kubiki? He made some great guitars eventhough he's known more for his factor4 basses.

    which i can do-but in my non-soundproof studio/basement i get killed!

i like both clips-hmmmm-me thinks i try the xtc-i thought it was more of a metally amp

please put more of these tunes up-or let us know when & where its all goin'

Big misconception of the Bogner XTC. The third channel is high gain, but if you stick with ch 1 and 2, you can dial in some great blues tones... hence the clips here!

ya i think i walked away with that misconception from the Michigan Tonefest last year-which incidently is where i picked up the Metro-

i think the player was on the heavier side[but very good]--

im pleased to know this now

    thanks

Thanks a lot all for the props. For anyone trying to listen the past couple hours, my website's server was down, but is back up now.
John, yep the XTC is a misunderstood animal. I love this amp. The biggest slam on it has been the clean ch. being flat. I have been working a lot on it, as I use clean on most of my gigs about 70% of the time. I have dialed it in pretty good and am going to experiment with some different tubes in the V1. Plus Bruce Egnater has some ideas on mods. I have a lot more stuff with the XCT I will post for you, but the real clean stuff is on a DVD and I will have to pull the audio from that when I have time.

    Peace,
    dk

Sounds great. I have the Ecstasy Classic model and it doesn't have quite as much compression as the original 101A or B So on it the "Red" channel can give some really good blues tones as well with a neck single coil and the boost "off". And it still can get that Randy Rhoades sound real quick by switching to a high output bridge pickup and kicking on the boost. Sustain for days. I too have struggled with the clean channel but I have finally gotten it to do what I want it to do. Just took a little while to hunt down it's sweet spot. Best amp I've ever owned.

Now I know why that amp is called the XTC!
    OMG!
I got to get one of those AMPS!
How do those compare to say the Bogner Shiva's?

As a matter of fact, I had a Shiva prior to the XTC. The clean was nice but I did not care for ch.2, which sounds nothing like either of the XTC gain chs. The Shiva is more for pedals. I was using a Fulldrive 2. It was okay, but my friend brought over his XTC and the Shiva was on ebay the next day.

Some more clips on the way.

Man, that 2nd song is a bit like "Little Feat". I like it.
Wouldn't have recognized the XTC though (and I own one). Thinking about adding a Duende ...

Thanks for listening. Yep, another example of this amp being mis-percieved. There is a thread in the Amps & Cabs section where a member was asking for guidence on the XTC. I posted some settings and stuff if you are interested.

There is also a new pic of this country guy with a totally "sic" live rig of XTC's, on the Bogner website next to new Duende clips. I might have to get one of those little buggers too.

    Peace,
    duffy

Now, to the other end of the spectrum - I have a couple of clips with the Bogner XTC's gain cranked RIGHT up on the blue and red channels. Guitarwise, the Ernie Ball Musicman Axis and Silhouette Special was used.

Nice work! Yep, sounds like a Bogner Ecstasy. You make it sound x-tasty! Nice wah and bar manipulation on the second track. You have some great technique too. Very clean.

Thanks for checking the tracks out bailnout + the kind words - I had a lot of fun with both tracks! Actually, my Ecstasy's been sounding a little on the bright side ever since those power tubes were replaced - but still, I love the thing!
