i feel like ive got about as close as im going to get with the clean tone. still need to make the OD tone a bit more beefy. It would help if i could crank the amp. I was trying not to wake up the baby upstairs.

You really nailed the clean tone. I this his might have more compression but this is close enough. Look at a device called an Ayan Smooth & Slim. I found that it really creates a fatness to any amp.
