When I first started playing guitar I wanted to impress people/girls. Now I really don't care. There's freedom to be had when you start playing for yourself and stop trying to impress people. So I would play whatever I felt like playing at the moment, even if it was just two notes.I can play at home for hours and have gigged for several years. However, I can't think of a single thing to play when I demo equipment in a music store or when I'm at a party and someone finds out I'm in a band and hands me a guitar. What do you play?
Beverly Hillbillies Theme, or I'm Just a Bill from schoolhouse rock, King Of The Hill theme, little wing...did somebody post this same topic a few weeks ago??
Yes they should, but if theres a piano in the corner, I might play some e flat blues, and tell anyone to play any black keys they want to in any order. If someone hands me a guitar at a party I play the intro from Yngwie's I Am A Viking and some sweep and shred licks. Hopefully no one wants to hear more and I can continue drinking. Guitars should be banned at parties.
