My wife, son, and myself have formed an acoustic cover band. I’m on acoustic and lead vocals, my wife plays a solid body uke bass, and my son plays cajon. I think I’d like to add a kazoo for lead lines, solos, etc.

Wood or metal kazoo?

Will a modified harmonica holder work? I need ideas!

yeah a harmonica holder works. You can just use some gaff tape to slide the kazoo into it or use rubber bands. The plastic Hohner kazoos work best IMO. i dropped my harmonica holder with a metal kazoo in it and the kazoo bent in half.

not sure about a kazoo,,,,but it does remind me of a cheap kazoo that was homemade that I used to use as a kid,,a comb and cigarette papers, it used to tickle the lips, and would stop when the paper got wet ;)

We used to do a cover of the Stones "Paint It Black" with a kazoo standing in for the sitar.

I was in a band that used kazoo's to cover the "do do do" bits in "Crosstown Traffic."

To the OP: Metal Kazoo is the only way to go.
