Came across this girl today by accident.....tone, playing and song remind me of something Sean would do. Not sure I'd not heard of her before....great band and playing all the way around.

Enjoy...

I can't really listen here at work, but is this the John Hiatt song "Tennessee Plates"? Because it's Ry Cooder or Sonny Landreth on the original recording.

I could see Sean doing some of the stuff Ry has done. When Sean did Tommy Johnson stuff, it was a little but like stuff Ry did on "Chicken Skin Music".

Anyway, it would make sense that a good guitarist would want to do a song that originally had really tasty guitar playing on it, and that John Hiatt record is a masterpiece. He invented "Americana".

Sorry OP, Samantha won't ever be half the musician Sean was. By the time he was her age he had such a mastery of the blues guitar idiom that he was really starting to carve out his own style. On her best day, she sounds like a high functioning blues jammer. Don't underestimate the power of a skirt.
