Songs in open G that aren't Stones songs

Really? I always play it in standard tuning!

The Crowes do a lot of open G songs, but I also question whether this one is. There certainly aren't any licks in their version that require open G. Not to mention why would you play a song in the key of B with an open G tuning?

Some others not mentioned:

Wilco:
Kingpin
Dreamer in My Dreams
Casino Queen (if you believe Brian Henneman, though easy to play in standard)
Is That the Thanks I Get (Tweedy's guitar part)

Uncle Tupelo:
Acuff Rose (in A, but I think it's open G/capo 2)
Criminals

Have not confirmed this, but fairly sure Jason Isbell's "Super 8 Motel" is in open G as well

I was just watching Jason playing on youtube live and I didn't notice him retuning the guitar for that song!

Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley
That's the Way by Zep - although the recording is slowed down and sounds in F#

Sure about that? I play it in open G.

The songbook published by Alfred Music Publishing Co. has it in standard tuning. Also, tutorials I've seen on YT as well as internet guitar tab sites I've seen are standard. I've always played it in standard and it sounds like the record.

I don't doubt that it can be played in open G, though. In fact, I might try it in open G for kicks. Who knows, I might like it better. :)

It's definitely open G on the ACL performance.

As always, a lot of songs mentioned here that aren't open G. I don't think Hard to Handle is and I'm almost positive that the Soundgarden tunes mentioned are not. None of the SG tunes I've dabbled with are in open G. Usually a tuning that much more a pain in the ass.
