    It's like the pre/post amp setting .
Do you raise the volume of the Sonos controller, or do you raise the preamp volume?

    Also
    I'm running a 200 watt/ side Emotiva into old Vandersteen 1-C's.
Wife threatened divorce in the BIG room , so I am banished to the 9x12 cave.
    The gear is overkill,
    Anyone recommended "smaller " speakers?:dunno:dunno
Still using a Velodyne powered sub.

    Thanks for reading /

I would set the level of the Sonos to match the level of the other sources and use the preamp to control the desired listening level if it has a remote control. If not, use the Sonos to control the level. Are you using the Sonos controller, or an iPod/iPad app?

Smaller speakers? If the Vandersteens sound good, why change them?
