I have a pre-2001 Fulltone Soulbender and am wondering if anybody ever figured out what the difference is in the circuit between then and now. I am aware of the volume pot change, but there seems to be some mystery about whether or not the bias resistor was changed. If anybody knows or has pics let me know.

Most of the Soulbenders had an internal bias pot. Even if it was a fixed bias resistor, that would have varied, unless his transistor supply was perfectly consistent, which is impossible.

so that big thumbwheel adjusts bias?

I don't think it's bias that the big trimmer adjusts. I have a Soulbender from about 2006 or so, and that trimmer on mine adjusts the wave form of the fuzz, not the bias of the trannies.
