I just hsd to try one. Id never get a Klon cause Im too cheap and my wife is even cheaper.

Why? What were the tonal improvements for you? Or was it "good enough" and made money on the ktr?

Ive had the KTR and a Kingsley Squire replaced it for a always on tone sweetner. I also have a Soul Food on order that hopefully will be in late next week.

The differences ( that ive gleaned ) over a "real" klon are that it has a tighter low mids response, more gain, slightly better dirt sound.. but still 95% klon.

Several long threads here about the SF if you care to search. I bought one a few weeks ago and love it. Second show with it last night. It's a keeper.

Don't know (or care) how it compares to a Klon. It sounds really good, which is really all that matters to me.

Long story short, almost everyone LOVES it.

Get one, you will either "not get it" and sell it for even or more than you paid.. or you will like it.

If you play into a tube amp, and like blues, classic rock, ( just for example ) then you will probably dig it.

If you play metal then you probably wont like it.

When JHS modded my Bad Monkey, they never notified of me anything - it just showed up. I got in back about 2 weeks fro the day I mailed it to them.

The soul food sounds great, some people have noted a "pop" when they step on it, but not everyone. Comes set for true bypass - most everyone likes it in the buffered bypass - you'll have to open it and flip the dip switch.
