    hello...

I play in a band in boston and I find myself moving away from my silver face deluxe 'verb towards an 18watt-marshall-EL34 vibe.
Ive got a cool 4-10 marshall cab and I think a small head would be great.

I love the fargen stuff but cant find any good sound clips. I know that youtube has lots of clips but they are all recorded from what sounds like several feet away with a vid cam....I am searching for something more.

    thanks for your help.

played a great gig the other day, my amp crapped out but the band was roaring and the crowd was into it so I just sang!

    Aaron :AOK

There's a lot of info for 18w. amps, try using Google or check out http://18watt.com/ for starters.

18w. amps use EL84's by the way.

    Good luck!

If you are talking about the miniplex, it actually runs EL 34s, not EL 84s. Considerably different than the 18 watters. With that said, there are tons of 18 watt variations out there, and the 18 watt web site has a lot of info available. But the minplex is cool!

The Blankenship Leeds is incredible. Here is a clip of one through a 4x12. They use a full size transformer so that it doesn't fall apart in the botom end. It actually puts out 21 watts.

My fave 18 watter is the Budda SDII. This is my main amp for small and big gigs. Clubs it's great and miked outdoor or 1,500+ seating venues it's amazing.
I don't have clips of mine but I'm sure some of the other Budda guys have some to post.
The dirty channel is truly amazing and I really like the clean channel for that transparent Voxy vibe and when you hit it hard it barks soooooo smooth.
Pedal and rack friendly to the max.
    Any Budda 18 SDII clip's?:BEER

So does just about every amp with 2xEL84 output tubes, because they are biased so hot...
