I'm having a devil of a time locating a source for a tele control plate that has a diagonal 3 switch slot cut into it.

Any source help appreciated. I've seen them, I know they exist.

Leo designed perfect guitars, but the Tele has a design flaw in the original control plate design, in that you can't get the pinky under the switch when in it's in the bridge position to easily flip it to #2 or #3.

    Appreciate any leads on this!

I agree with you. I'm thinking of trying one of Marc's control plates on a new build I have in the works.

On one guitar, I installed a Les Paul Style switch. If this option appeals to you, you can source blank control plates. I think Stewmac has them. Drilling holes is a whole lot easier than filing a perfect slot ;-)

    Cheers,
