I have to admit, I'm really tempted by this. My only experience with Spaceman is with the Nebula, which I had to sell on but which was a really great pedal.

A question for those who've tried the Gemini (III or IV): how would this compare to a Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe? Can it get more of a muffy tone? Play as well with humbuckers?

I will probably take a leap of faith here in the hopes that if I don't like it, I can recoup the cost - it's more than I'd want to spend for a fuzz pedal right now, but FOMO, right?

Edit: Found one at a dealer with free shipping, so I have a silver Gemini IV on order. There goes the fun money fund...

I gave in and ordered a black one. I still rock my Nebula, and this one seems like a really fun one too!

I saw that one on reverb shortly after I bought direct from Spaceman. The pedals went on sale at 12 PST and my receipt from Spaceman came at 12:01 PST so I assume mine will be at the other end of the run. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

I have a scarab, and I’d say they are both very versatile and absolutely fantastic fuzzes, but also quite different. The scarab is much brighter (in my rig), more cutting, and more vintage/psychedelic sounding. My Gem III is warmer, fuller, and richer, with a lot less gain on tap. It does scooped muff tones fairly well, but I think where it really excels is for sweet-sounding leads and slightly fuzzy chord work. It also cleans up a little better than the scarab, probably due to the Ge. I love both!

It’s not crazy or over-the-top at all—nothing like the Sputnik. It’s very usable and musical on all settings.

I’m curious as to whether or not the GIV will have to be placed first in line before buffers.

I’m envisioning putting the GIV to use with an ebow.

Oh Mr. Torn... I have no doubt you could coax some wildness out of this thing.

At this point there are only 160 or so left, and they will sell themselves over the next couple weeks. I don't think any expensive demos would be worth it. Maybe if there are new colors added.
(and I want more, better, demos as well. Come on, shipping notice.)

Thinking about this one really hard. I really love my Mercury IV, and dig the Spaceman thing. This one’s hard to resist for sure.

I just assumed a few more were sent out to the bigger guys like Just Nick, but maybe demos weren’t ready.

Yeah, it's certainly possible. <checks email for shipping notice> I mean, I would love <checks email for shipping notice> to hear some more demos. <checks email for shipping notice> I just don't think that they're needed to sell <checks email for shipping notice> out the rest of the Gemini IV run. <checks email for shipping notice>
