I just realized that the tone control on my Sparkle Drive only affects the gain sounds and has no effect on the clean side of things. Is this how it works, or is mine malfunctioning?

    Thanks

That's how it's supposed to work.

I love that pedal ---- key is the blend pot (clean). -- that is where the magic happens.

I love the pedal as well. I was trying to use it as a "command central" on top of my amp so I could craft all the different sounds without bending down. I am using the clean setting cranked all the way as an always on boost for my Strat. I would like the pedal to control the tone on the clean setting.

I just need to rethink what I am doing.....as usual.:jo

Sparkle Drive is working fine as stated.

I've got one and its a great pedal.
    But,
I just picked up a Pure Drive and its very similar to the Sparkle Drive with the Clean Blend feature. I dig the Pure Drive a little more but for the price of the Sparkle you can't really beat it.

only the volume pot effects the clean side of the pedal.

and yes its a very useful pedal, but I feel like as a tube screamer alone its sort of weak... i'm probably gonna send it to keeley for some magic. Right now though I'm loving the knobs at around 12 going into a cookin amp or my BoR. Soooooooo juicy.

I forgot to mention in my post that I was referring to the Keeley mod version in my comparrison.

I can say yes, the Keeley mod greatly improves the drive tone of the Sparkle Drive. Great TS tone! Super gritty through my cranked AC30HW.

I picked out the Pure Drive more so because it seemed to have more cut and bite.
