Speaker for JCM800 Type (1x12)

    Any Recommendations for a driver to put in a 1x12 cab to match a Fargen Olde English 800 (50 Watts) Want that good Crunch! :AOK

    I would ask Ben Fargen. If you don't push it real hard a Celesion G12-65 would work well. That is one of the speakers the Marshall packaged with their JCM 800 50 watters.

    The G12-65 was also one of my initial thoughts.

    However, if you don't want a mid-heavy tone, a Scumback H75-HP would be utterly perfect !!

    I tried many in my 4010 1x12's I've had, the only speaker I didn't actually like was the 70th Anniversary G12H30 re-issue. It seemed to be a bit too upper mid heavy and bright for my taste. A regular G12T75 sounded better to me. Go figure.

    Thanks for the info guys, I'm hoping to get a Scumback for it...Does anybody have a fave eminence that's a bit more frugal? e.g. a Private Jack or a Guvenor?
