Any suggestions regarding speakers for an SSS amp? It will be a 150w version. Thanks in advance for your responses.

If you don't mind the weight, you can't really go wrong with an EVM12L. Pretty much the standard for Dumble-style amps

Celestion Lead 80's or EVM 12L would be my choice.

For me, nothing beats the EVs to deliver that thump and low end that these amps do better than any other. Brandon uses a quad of Neos with his personal 150 watt Drifter (at least he did), but those just didn't thump like EVs.

Any of you had the chance to try the WGS12L yet?

I have an EV and think it's OK, but am looking for something a bit more organic.

    Do you mean more colored?

I have a friend with 150w SSS style amp it sounded great with KTS70's, but I like that speaker with anything I've tried it with.

The EV's are just a bit too Hi-Fi for my taste. I've had the exact opposite experience with the KTS-70. I've had it for a few years now, and haven't liked it with any of the amps I've tried it with.

Interesting about the KTS70s, what is it that you do no like about it?

Are you looking at a 1x12, 2x12 or a 4x12? What sound are you going for? The WGS Blackhawk HP might be worth looking into...they're supposed to be a recreation of the old alnico EV SROs. I have never heard the Blackhawk though so...this is a blind suggestion.

There's something about the lows that I don't like. Like the EV, it also doesn't seem organic to my ears. Sorry to use "organic" again, but it's the best way to describe what I'm hearing. I definitely want to check out the WGS Blackhawk HP.

What cabs are you using with the EV and KTS70?

The KTS-70 is in a Morgan openback, and the EV is in a traditional oval ported cab.
