I am swaping out the Jensen in a stock Fender Reissue BF Deluxe. I noticed that the Jensen uses 8 bolts/nuts for mounting. The Vintage 30 I was going to install only has 4 which do not line up. Has anybody run into this and what are my options? Does Celestion make a 8 hole V30?

Celestions have only four mounting holes in their basket, except the new greenback 10" which has eight. Weber makes Celestion type speakers and all his frames have eight holes. The ceramic Blue Dog,50 watt, works well in Deluxe Reverbs. If you get one,get it with light dope and have Ted break it in for you.Your only option with the vintage 30 would be to remove four of the bolts on your baffle board.

People have done one of two things if they want to use a 4-hole speaker:

Either: drill 4 new holes in the speaker frame (carefully measured and executed of course)

Or: remove 4 of the 8 speaker mounting studs in the amp.

    Both methods work just fine.

Red fang works great in this amp... tight fit, you'll have to remove the chasis first but it will fit.

Great Advice! I took the liberty and drilled four new holes in my Celestion G12-H. It fits perfectly and sounds fantastic...
