Just wondering what the whiskey drinking professionals think of flavored whiskeys. I like Crown Maple by God and I'm OK admitting it.

    How about you?

I'm a fan of the maple too. It's like a little shot of breakfast.

I can appreciate a good spirit neat or on the rocks. I also enjoy a well made cocktail so I like like to dictate what the the other flavors will be, not a marketing team.

I tried the Knob Creek Smoked Maple. It was too much maple. If they scaled it back a bit it would have been perfect.

I like the taste of whiskey. I also like the taste of breakfast. I also like the fact that should I happen to spill some I get to be surrounded by the comforting aroma of IHOP.

I can't stand Jack Daniels. It came out my nose a few times.......
That being said, Jack Honey is phenomenal!

A friend at work makes his own moonshine. It's incredible! Especially the Apple Pie flavor. He learned from a guy at Maker's Mark.

Jim Beam has a cinnamon bourbon too.

Anything to kill the nasty taste of the inside of a burnt barrel, so highly prized by some, is a plus for me.

    Besides, it attracts females.

The honey flavored stuff works well in a hot toddy, otherwise, I'm a bit more of a purist.

I'm a huge whiskey fan and prefer it straight and not flavored.
however I do like knob creek maple, winter jack and Vermont 14 (maple). There are good ones out there as long as you don't go into it expecting it to taste like straight whiskey.

That synthetic garbage they put in that maple crown is disgusting. I Don't like it in bacon or sausage or syrup either.

Now...the apple crown is pretty ok if you mellow it on some ice for a minute.
I still prefer it the old fashioned way: purple.

Flavored whiskey sounds stupid to me. They are jumping on the coat tails of the flavored vodka/rum trend. What next - flavored Gin?

    This sums it up.

That flavored crap is for women and children.
