I just finished up a project I've been wanting to do for years with the help of a lot of people. My Father passed away in 1990 and he was a hugh supporter of me playing and working on guitar and also a huge reason for my love of history especially the WWII era. Dad was the nose gunner and photographer in a recon B-25 stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines. The emblem shown of the front is for the Far eastern air force, the neck plate is laser etched with his service photo and the trem cover is a photo he took of the 11th airborne retaking the Philippines. The brass knob is capped with a enlisted airman's collar tab (Dad was a PFC). I could could not be happier with how it came out and I owe a lot of people for the help it took to make this guitar come to life.

Roy, that is one of the most special and amazing looking pieces to ever come from RS. I am sure your father would be very proud and thankful for such a terrific tribute. RS is doing some of the best work in custom reliced guitars and basses out there. I eagerly await my Guitar25 RS Old Friend.

Awesome! A perfect tribute to the greatest generation that ever lived. My dad was also a WWII vet.

Thanks to every one for the kind words and Komet I could not agree more they were the greatest generation and every one of them should be honored more than they are. I'd love to do this type of thing for others or at least see it done more.

That instantly reminded me of a tribute bike Orange County Choppers did a couple of years back. Clearly the love, and respect for your dad was channeled thru your excellent craftsmanship. Congrats on a marvelous family heirloom.
