Hey there, So I decided to turn My Korean Made Strat into a Dick Dale Surf guitar.
I found a site with the schematics. Pretty simple. Single 250 k pot, 3 way switch, and a mini toggle switch. Dick Dale Mainly used just the Bridge pickup.. So its pretty basic, Im trying to make mine as true to his as possible.
heres a link for that. If u want to check out what Im doing.

My issue is, I pulled the pups out and was ready to wire it up when I realized, 1 thick brown wire that Housed a red and a White wire and another bare wire wrapped around the white and red. . I would have assumed the Bare wire was the ground, And red hot. But I have 3 wires and not sure what is what in there?
There is a white a red, then a bare wire that was in the brown sleeve also.
All 3 pups have the same wire scheme...heres what it looks like.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, Im new the Technical world of guitars..
But any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is what she will look like done. I used a Blue Led cover to fill the other hole where the pots were. Just for show.

The bare wire is a shield, it and one of the other wires will go to ground. Whatever color was originally soldered to the back of the pots should be soldered to the back of the new pot with the the bare wire.
