Why or why not use them?
What's your experience?
I dont like them. I dont even play that much and I noticed my frets were
wearing with SS strings.
I just recently tried a set of Stainless Steel strings.
I wanted to try them because Frank Gambale uses them.
I didnt care for 'em at all. they had a strange friction on the low wound strings (E,A,D,) that you would feel in your fingers. I find it strange Gambale uses them because I find Nickel seems much slick and slinkier for Economy sweep style picking such as Frank does.
Look into the new "Cobalt" strings. I wanna give those a try.
Much better for your body.
I'd like to try the Cobalt strings too.
Generally very bright and rough on frets.
Love them. Especially GHS super steels. They're loud and bright.
Yeah, gives me more 'jingle' and they last a bit longer.
