Whoever called it testicle was hilarious. Every time I heard it in the movie it sounded like icicle, and thought they could have come up with a better name.

That would answer quite a few questions about Palpatine's "issues," I think you're onto something!

I watched it last night, nothing approaching great expectations. My initial impressions were that it does feel cluttered and some things don't make allot of sense or are under baked. However. It is a fun movie, I still like most of the characters. The central emotional conflicts were interesting. It never felt like it was gleefully misleading you like TLJ. The movie looked amazing and clearly involved allot of talent. I can be pretty cynical about star wars but the fact is this movie still managed to push emotional buttons proving I am a basic sucker for the brand and the music since I was a kid. I think this was the best you could hope for considering the previous installment and slightly surpassed my expectations. ..... Just imagine if someone had actually planned this trilogy out ahead of time.......

Blame it on John Ya Ya.

It would have been funny if they made mention of their Oscillation Overthruster being faulty.

Finally saw it yesterday. Was expecting a bad movie because of all the clutching-of-pearls reviews I've read.

I like it. A lot. Best of the latest trilogy, in my view. Enough humor to break the tension, but not over the top like the last one.

Definitely a couple weird holes that jumped out at me, but I'll watch again to make sure I just didn't miss something.

Wasn't perfect, but then neither was A New Hope or Empire. Holes everywhere!!

Mandalorian is the sh!t, though. This is the Way.

I hated TLJ, but loved that aspect, and missed it in Return of Skywalker.

I think it was John Smallberries, or John Bigbooty that were originally in charge. Hard to say, the Sith killed them all; they're all so "angry" all the time...

So I finally watched it. I went in with a good feeling about the movie as I disagreed with most about TLJ, I thought it was a decent movie.

But when the credits started rolling I had to say, I didn't like it ... The Emperor Palpatine bits almost felt like a fan made movie, the princess Leia sequences felt disjointed and unnatural, my favorite bits mostly involved Poe and Finn, the rest kinda felt like a Michael Bay movie ... I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't like it but ... oh well Mando season finale was great ...

I finally saw it yesterday. I didn't have much hope after the disappointment that was TLJ, but I did like it quite a bit. Definitely has issues, but I don't think it's possible to make a SW movie that can please everybody; too many deep seated expectations. I'll look forward to watching it again on Blu.

It probably would have been somewhat more coherent honestly. As bad as it might pain me to say that. o_O

After reading through this thread over the past couple days I decided to give The Last Jedi third viewing and while flawed it is still one of the better SW movies. I actually enjoyed it and found it less troublesome than I did the first couple times around. Eventually, I imagine, I will watch The Rise Of Skywalker, but I am just not looking forward to seeing it.

Just saw it and am still trying to process what I saw - so get ready because, right or wrong, I’m about to cathartically vomit It all back out.

It was like Star Wars, the Avengers, the screen clutter of transformers, and randomly Indiana Jones all got merged into one film. It’s like it could have been a trilogy on its own. The entire movie made me wonder what the point even was of The Last Jedi was, money aside?!? I feel like you could watch the first movie and the last and not really miss a lot.

While I liked Palpatines decrepit appearance - it seemed like he got the Thanos/endgame treatment: he was dead but not really. I mean he’s a sith and he’s been killed before. The way he died made me think he had just looked at the Ark of the covenant... which may have been abrams doing his Spielberg worship thing:dunno

    Random thoughts:
    Billy Dee Williams was bad.

Harrison Ford, who made the first movie for me, made a random non-Force themed cameo that I liked but seemed to break with Star Wars continuity of dead people who aren’t Jedi’s being dead...

Reys parents, or dad I think, was apparently a sith too??

Jedi get to heal people now - glad the mandalorian put that out there! Lol

Snoke got explained away in literally one sentence... I’m still not quite sure why palpatine needed to conceal himself? I guess he had to wait for Rey and recoup his strength?

Leia just laid down and died... I guess she used all her strength turning Ben? I felt like I ran out to the bathroom and missed an entire sequence that explained she was ill or wounded?

Mark Hamill was virtually unwatchable. They should have just had a composite of Alec Guinness instead:red

Overall the movie was like a combo platter of Star Wars cameos and ideas culled from comment sections with what felt like rehash of return of the Jedi’s ending (look two super star destroyers are crashing into each other over Endor this time little Ewoks!) It’s over for now... I guess.:dunno

6-7/10 for me. The first movie was a solid start, the second looked good but went nowhere, and the third suffered as a rushed please everybody ending with entirely to much stuff on the screen. JJ Abrams was clearly in recovery mode after the backlash from the last one - unfortunately in doing so he failed to advance anything that happened in The Last Jedi. Look I didn’t like The Last Jedi - but had the Rise of Skywalker built on what we learned or didn’t learn in that film (snoke, tracking through hyperspace necessitating a casino planet subplot, the first order getting their asses handed to them while Palpatine apparently had a planet full of Death Star equipped Star Destroyers, Jedi capable kids, etc...) it could have worked to make both movies more watchable and the series to have better flow. This just came across as a total course correction on The Last Jedi.

I just saw it for a 2nd time today, caught a bunch of things I missed the 1st time. Actually I think it’s a pretty good SW movie, had all the elements, fun, wild ride, lightsabers, good v. Bad. I’d give it an 8/10. My older son saw it for the 3rd time, he is still so-so on it

Han was just a memory, I thought it was pretty cool that it was almost the exact convo from TFA, honestly I think the series was missing the humor of Han’s character.

on the 2nd viewing, there were lots of mosh-mash from the other movies, but I actually liked that
