Well, I've been a guitar and amp guy for a while, but now I'm looking to venture into the world of effect pedals. So basically, what I want is:

-Best OD for high gain (ie. Boosting a mid/low gainer into high gain liquid leads/metal rhythms)
    -Delay
    -Chorus
    -Phaser
    -Flanger
    -Wah
    -Some Cool Effect/Other
    -Power Supply
    -Pedalboard

Price isnt that much of an issue, since I can buy them seperately, but keeping pedals under $200 is always good.

If anyone could suggest stuff to get, I'm all ears!

    For ME.

Power - VooDoo Labs Pedal Power
    Chorus - HBE THC
    Delay - HBE Mimic
    Compressor - HBE CPR
Boost HBE Dos Mas, and RC Boost by Xotic
    Overdrive - HBE Powerscreamer
Wah - HBE or Fulltone Clyde
    A/B - Loooper or Startouch

As you can tell I love HBE pedals

What style of music/guitars/amps? There's lots of choices out there...

-Power Supply - if your power needs are straightforward 9/12 vdc a used Pedal Power 1 should be fine...www.voodoolab.com
-Pedalboard - Pedaltrain www.pedaltrain.com or Rockon Pedaboards http://rockonpedalboards.com/

OD - Xotic RC or BB or a Tim. A BSM treble booster would be cool. Check em out.
Delay - Try to find an early Ibanez or Maxon AD-80. These are the warmest and they self-oscillate beautifully.
Chorus - Many out there. I use an early MXR Stereo Chorus and a Voodoo Lab.
Phaser - An early pre-Dunlop Phase 90 will get you there. The non-led ones.
Flanger - Try an ADA. You'll be hooked!
Wah - I use a Budda or a Teese Picture wah. Both have a vintage Vox vibe to em. A Vox Clyde reissue is cool too.
For some other cool effect, try a Demeter Tremolo or an EH Holy Grail reverb. Both won't break your bank like some of the other pedals I've mentioned! You may want to check out a fuzz like a Fulltone or a KR. Prescription Electronics makes excellent pedals that will get you different but cool tones. You can't go wrong with any of em.
Power Supply - I use a Voodoo Lab
Pedalboard - You can find some cool ones right here or on ebay. Depends on whether you want to fly a Cessna or a 747!
    Good Luck!

    For live use I suggest:
    (1) peterson strobostomp
    (2) a good compressor (I use the Analogman mini bi-comp)
Be sure to try a lot of things and ask yourself what you need and what you will use. Happy hunting.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, keep them coming! The kind of sound I want OD wise is like a Steve Vai type type sound, both for lead and rhythm. Can all the ODs mentioned do this?

    Tuner- Strobostomp
EQ - BJF Sea Blue EQ (subtle but awesome...a must have pedal)
OD - Timmy, BJF Honey Bee, BJF EGDM, hell...all the BJF ODs rock.
    Clean Boost - Keeley Katana
Vibe - Mojovibe, BJF Mighty Green Vibe (wicked pricey but on my list)
    Tremelo - Kaden Fluttertone
Compressor - Analogman Bi-comp, Keeley Comp, or Barber Tone Press
    A/B/Y - Startouch
    NYC pedal boards
Voodoo Lab Pedal Power II or if you have the money PedalGear Juicebox 3.0

***Anything by BJF is sure to please. Bjorn is making some of the best pedals out there. Also highly recommend Keeley's pedals and mods, and Analogman makes some killer stuff/mods. ****
