Any of you remember this one? Did your band cover it back in the '80's?
In the late '80s, we worked it up, rehearsed it and never did it live.
I spent a butt load of time learning all the licks to never use them in the song.
Ended up doing Wang Chung which at the time made me ill.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing, now I wanna relearn both songs.
Great song. Thanks for posting this!
Wow! That was a blast from the past. The local rock radio stations in northern California used to play this single on the radio all the time during the '80s and were from Sacramento. They're actually still gigging as a band at the casinos in Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe. Here's their website: http://www.steelbreeze.info/Site/Home.html
Wow, crazy! I actually started this thread because a good friend of mine is going to have a band reunion this summer (with his old band from the 80's), and this song was mentioned as one that they covered. I'd forgotten all about it.
Yeah, we played it.
That was a loooooooooong time ago.
One of the worst songs of the 80's, thanks for making me relive it
I saw them (and Billy Squier) open for The Who on the "farewell" tour. Steel Breeze had a follow up single at the time, "Lost In The 80's". And it was only 1982 at the time!
Funny.....I saw them play in Sacramento when this song hit for them. Their favorite song to play live was the Animal's "We got to get out of this place". I guess they did for a bit!
