I'm sure they've been talked about before. But jeezus... these guys are hilarious. Probably the first 'joke' band that's made me laugh in pretty much ever. Doesn't hurt that the guitar player is amazing as well. Very well done parody. Best thing since Spinal Tap. They're going to be here in May. I might have to actually go see them. Anyone seen them? I was wondering if the schtick worked unscripted. They seem really quick in their interviews.

Love the Panther. Great tunes - many better than the originals that they spoof.

I've seen them many times and they never disappoint

after about the third show the comedy becomes secondary and you really start to focus on how incredibly good musicians they are

    oh yeah and boobs

I saw them twice last year. First they had their own show at HOB and it was awesome. Hilarious from start to finish. Definitely go see them if you like their humor, they're great live.

I also saw them open for Judas Priest at Hard Rock. It was good, but not as much fun because as an opener they didn't have enough time to do as many of their gags and bits, and a good portion of the crowd wasn't into it.

Absolutely amazing. Without question my favorite modern band. Massively tight band with all the chops, can clone the 80's, have their own songs, and truly funny (if this is your type of humor...I guess not for everyone)

Go look up the video of Satchel (Russ Parish) circa '92 playing exercises. SICK guitar player....sick.

My favorite Panther video is the 21st Anniversary show they did at The VIPER Room....mostly a cover show playing as Jam Prancer....awesome.

We were playing the same venue last year. My band was upstairs; they were downstairs. Naturally I had to go listen to their soundcheck. Right about the time the singer, during his mic check, sang unaccompanied, "I want to poop in your ear," I knew that this was a band of rare talent. :)

Love the band. Incredibly catchy tunes on top of the humor.

The only joke band I actually find funny. And they're awesome because they've got serious playing ability. Satchel is hilarious.

    Steel Panther.

The best 80's band that never was. The best sounding 80's hair band albums that weren't recorded during the time period. It almost feels wrong to call them a parody band.

So many mock bands out there; Spinal Tap, NWH, Electric Apricot, etc... simply poked fun at the style's and lifestyle of the musicians that parodied, while never truly reaching near the same level of musicality.

Steel Panther is different. They truly are better than the bands they parody. From songwriting, to performance, to recording, to the look, to simply embracing the irony of it all.

It just feels wrong to call them a comedy act, or a parody band.

One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. My ribs hurt the next day from laughing so hard and they sounded amazing!

Whatever happened to those assholes? ;)

    NSFW!

    AWESOME band.

I've never been a "hair metal" fan, until I started listening to SP.

Their shows are pure comedy, and they are awesome musicians to boot.

Two of my favorite bands on one show......

OH. I didn't know they were a joke, I thought they were a band with bad wigs trying to bring back the 80s thing (I'm a little.. a lot out of touch). That changes everything, I'll definitely have to check 'em out!
