I have searched and read this forum and the "Survival Guide". I see references where people are able to upload pictures (JPG images) to a post, but I have not been able to find a step-by-step description.

I tried "Upload a file". Something uploads, but I don't know how to add it into a post.
I tried "drag and drop". No error messages, and no image.
I tried "cut and paste", but the "paste" option is not highlighted.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance.

I think most people are using a third party photo hosting site like Photobucket or Shutterfly. Try something like that.

At this point it only works in the Emporiums for some reason. We are looking into it.

So if I understand this correctly we should be able to upload photos without having to use a 3rd party service any longer (i.e. ImageShack)?

If so that is awesome. Even if it just only ends up working that way in the Emprorium, that is a huge benefit.

So am I understanding it correctly?

If you are in one of the supporting member user groups, you have a media gallery that you can upload images to. You will no longer need a 3rd party service. I believe that we have just fixed the problem that was preventing people from getting their Image Galleries started.

    Thanks.

I will have to become a supporting member. I spend a lot of time here.

How and where do we start an Image Gallery?
(Sorry if I have missed something obvious.)

Supporting members can upload media directly from their computer to the forum. To do so, you must click “Media” in the blue bar on top and then “Add Media” (to the right). Name the album you are creating (this only need be done once) and then add media.

Now when you are in the post entry box, you can click on the “camera” icon and drop your images inline with your posts

Very helpful feature. Thanks for doing such a good job managing the forums, taking the plunge to update the forum software, and rolling it out so smoothly.

Last weekend I became a supporting member. I spend a lot of time here.

I keep getting "file to big" to load. I loaded all of my pics from my phone to a photo file .So I thought that when I isolated one photo it would send. So today I moved one pic to a seperate file and sill get the same thing. What am I doing wrong ?

I am going to need to upload some pics in a week of gear. I am not a supporting member, thinking of joining. In the meantime, do I just use third party like photobucket to upload? What are the steps to upload from photobucket to TGP?

DV52, did you get a response to your question, will have same question myself later.

Is there a way to get rid of the text below and the media/information links above the image? Haven't found a way yet..although I can manually delete the text below the photo.
    The links remain.

You can link to remotely hosted pictures. We recommend a free picture hosting service such as www.imgur.com It is free, fast and easy. You upload your photos there, copy the UBB code they generate under ‘media links’ and copy it into your post. Your picture now appears in your post.

I was able to upload a pic last night directly in the post, ...
It took me long but got it, think when I do it again, it may get easier.
You need to check the pic format to match for loading, this was one of the issues I had previously.
It seems to take a long time to upload like 3 or 4 minutes.

    Yeppers!

That works the easiest so far.
Or I just copy the url and add the IMG BBCode

    Thanks Scott!
