Just noticed these Sterling's dropped in price from $499 to $349. Think these are worth looking at? Same quality as a G&L Tribute or Classic Vibe?

The Stingray intrigues me as the MM tremelo S nice .

One of the shops where I live has Sterling by MM guitars quite regularly. I usually check them out. I've yet to play a bad one. I'd say they could charge 800 and get away with it. They really are well done and do sound fantastic. I own an EBMM Stingray and a Bongo and the Sterling basses I've tried were shockingly close in feel and sound.

I miss my old USA SUB 1 guitar (2004) I stupidly sold during a fit of GAS.

I don't think Sterling Ball would want subpar imports with his name on them either

My friend just got a sterling (not sure the model, the round body with a Floyd) we played it a bit at the store and could not find any bad sounds, the pickups are excellent in all positions.

He was able to get it for just about 300 out the door due to cosmetic issues.
