I may angle both pickups on my next Stevens. Yes treble is smoothed and bass response has increased sparkle without being harsh. Michael built a Classic with no slants in 2010. Mosrite and others have done this. Personally. I always drove a Riviera when the El Dorado was the cool car to have in the old days. I prefer the Classic Road with some turns. Several Stevens user like the Fender scale. These are based on your option choices.

Actually no one mentioned that the Stevens usually has a slanted bass pickup, not treble.
I actually order this one with a straight bass bucker so I could use the Ebow.

yeah i mean it seems like a decent reason, i just never got over the look even though it is with a good purpose. I really like the color though, very classy.

10 lbs? Wow, that is in the LP Custom territory. It seems those guitars are a bit on the heavy side, and I am wondering if it was done on purpose? Mike Stevens is a MONSTER builder for sure, though. :aok

If that stripe is anything like the one on my LJ, it means it's a three-piece neck.

The neck is essentially three pieces of Korina, with 2 strips of hollywood dyed
black to accent the three other laminations.

    "Stevens Rose
Curvey girls weigh more, I was surprised, she weighs 10 pounds exactly on a digital scale. Feels lighter but the limba body is wider than an LJ. Lester, etc.
The actual dimensions are SLIGHTLY smaller than a 335 or 345, including front to back, but to the eye when taken from the case or looked at from even a few feet away, the size looks standard. The Classic's dimensions are on the Stevens Electrical Instruments website.

Maybe Matte, Ultra, or 6120 can list weights of their Stevens Classic babes.

    Have a good week.

The weight of my korina/maple/Braz Classic is 8lb 12oz

The day after I posted the weight, I had a possible revelation. Not being scienticfically inclined like my Father and brother Paul, The scales are from Costco, made in China, they are probably wrong. I weighed the guitar with me as compared to just me. Exactly 10 pounds difference, but I'll reweigh when I can. It is not very heavy nor did my back hurt when I gigged with Cross Country in the nineties. Some of my other guitars in or around 10 big ones, would give a back ache on a three to four hour gig.The Classic Stevens did not.

That Fretwork is insane (as is everything else) I love the fact that the neck and bridge pickups are slanted differently as I would think they should be.

    Pretty cool...and smart...
