So, who likes to personalize or otherwise decorate their instrument with stickers of any kind or any other type of adornment? I rarely participate in this activity other than my Sting Ray bass, on which I put a really cool Alex Grey mandala sticker smack in the middle of the pickguard.

So what say ye? Pictures are certainly welcome if you do!

Very limited for me for certain guitars, yes. Ultimately, it's YOUR guitar, so have fun with it!

One of my black Charvels looked a little plain, so I gave it a splash of red. If I had bought it that way, it would have been called Custom Shop and cost an extra $1500.

i would put a sticker on but I heard it absorbs tone-- so no tattoos on my axe ! lol

Generally, no. But sometimes I make exceptions.

Never in a million years is my vote. Besides looking super gaudy and cheap to me, I’ve had to pass on far too many guitars where the finish had been discolored by a previous owner’s stickers (I passed on a beautiful older Charvel the other day because the previous owner had stickers all over the body that were removed and the finish was a completely different shade in the spots where they were applied).

You are confused---it's actually the brand of battery used in your boost pedal that can rob tone. Ask Eric Johnson for the right one. :aok

It’s the color of the sticker that affects tone. Stay with clear ones to avoid this.

    Ron approves of stickers.

I'm tempted to do more, actually, and I think this thread might give some ideas...

Cool! I think my black strat is the only guitar that would work.

Not unless I was 14, or someone seeking added attention, or looking to spread controversial views or messages, or some combination thereof. I don't wear apparel with provocative messages, or put stickers on my cases, or my vehicle's bumper either. I don't view my person or guitar as a platform for promotion.

That Gretsch is a perfect example of a sticker that really fits the look of the guitar. You'd think it came from the factory that way!

I don't put stickers on my guitars or cars, but I can understand why some people do. Maybe, if I was in a punk band...
