I mostly use the bass just to record DI. The Ampeg, being solid state lets me run it straight in. No need for load box, etc... But occasionally I do play through the 2x12. I'm definitely not a bass player, but I'd rather play a real bass badly than use a plug in or synth.

I feel you on that one. I'm currently saving up for a bass and in the meantime have been writing bass lines by cranking up the low-end on my eq and doing palm muted stuff on my tele. What model is that Ampeg head? Thanks

Ampeg Micro VR. Only $300 for the head and it sounds great to me. I even run pedals through it with my guitar. It's got a great clean tone.

Discovered Mark Deutrom's solo stuff and i'm shocked at how good it is. I realize now how much of a role he played in Stoner Witch and Stag (my Personal Favorite).

I've found myself drifting away from Octave fuzzes and more towards Tonebenders. I've really enjoyed the demos of the Skreddy Rover as it seems like it is a modern take on it.

Yep, ordered the vinyl from More Fuzz, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

Funny, someone liked my post from 7 years ago in the past day or two - i’d gotten rid of a black SG at the time, and now one is my main guit again.

I’m definitely on the more psych end of the spectrum vs a stoner or doom thing - mainly playing in a two piece thing with keys and programmed drums - early Moon Duo-ish, I guess.

If I ever sold my JJ, the SuperPlex would be at the top of my list of potential candidates to replace it. Nice rig!

Thanks, man! I'm loving the Superplex...truly gives me everything I could want from an amp.

and yep! Groundswell. Super nice build quality, but I may switch it up - I have giant feet and think I may just switch to two smaller boards so I don't have to step *over* any pedals.

So, over a year later, I actually got this set for my Eclipse. The Blackouts were a little too hot and didn't play well with fuzz, while the Fralin hum canceling P90s didn't have quite enough balls. Just got em in today so my opinion may change over time, but I think the Balch set is a good middle ground.

I had actually ordered (and paid for) Motor City Detroiters, but it took 3 months and counting with poor communication and a bad attitude from the builder, so I got a refund and went with the Railhammers. No regrets...

Got the new “studio” unpacked after moving. It’s the smallest room in the house so as I bring the rest of the stuff in it’s going to turn in to stacks and piles.

New project is starting, doing some psych/heavy/riff stuff, so I gotta get prepared!

Pardon the lighting, worst possible lighting for photos.
