    Forget Velcro.....and forget bicycle-chain links.
    Use flat picture-hangers.
They're cheap, and they last forever.

I suppose you could use that if you had a homemade wood pedalboard.
Not drilling holes in my pedaltrain.
Velcro is fast, cheap and easy.

I used the picture hanger stuff for a while. These days though, nothing beat Dual Lock to lock the pedals to the board but also if you need the flexibility to remove them.

The main problem with the picture hangers is them coming off when you want to remove the pedals to rearrange them or use them on other boards...I have five pedalboards and use the same pedals for each of them based on the gig I’m doing.

Interesting but Velcro has always worked fine for me. Don't fix what ain't broke and all that.

Double sided 3m mounting tape works great as well. Love that stuff. Will hold up to 5 pounds and comes off east for rearranging.

Similar to bike chain links, and this works for me on my home brew wooden board, but you know some players have different boards...

Literally identical strategy to the bicycle chain option.

    Dual lock is my choice.

Best part of the gear industry is you can choose what works for yourself even if it utterly fails for someone else.

I know it's not popular, but I use zip ties.

Velcro sounds better. More organic. The picture hanging tabs can get a bitt ice picky IMO...YMMV......FYI.......LOL.

    Velcro AND zip ties.

Permanent, sorta. Still removable. Pedals DO NOT fall off.

Done bike links, plumber's tape, etc.

V&Z is not popular, but it DOES work very well.

    YMMV

I use command strips with the dual lock type surface. I can custom place pedals and, if I want to change or sell a pedal, the is zero residue. Get a big pack at Costco for $10 and it will do about a gazillion pedals.

I went with the "Foam Lid" solution for my pedalboards. Holds everything in place well. No drilling or glue required.
